Slovak artist Anna Mária Beňová explores the themes of womanhood within a neo-feminist era in a male-dominated society.
Her paintings depict woman in control, where Beňová portrayts the complexity of female sexuality revealing its beauty and ugliness, strength and fragility.
She captures the dynamic interplay of both asserting dominance and surrendering to it. Benova approaches this exploration with wit and humor, almost as mockingly demonstrating to male screenwriters how to craft a girl character.
